Springford Farm
For Colin and Diane Springford, son Ross, his wife Erin, and their children Parker and Landon, home is 225 acres near Nanoose Bay, located on the east coast of Vancouver Island. The mission of this sixth generation farm family is to “provide families with truly healthy food products…naturally”.
The farm’s origins date back to the mid-19th century. Ross’s great-great-grandfather, Albert Doney, played a key role in establishing what would later become Springford Farm when he and his partner started El Sereno Dairy, and then Registered Jersey Dairies in the 1930s.
Colin started out with just five acres and a dairy herd, but Springford Farm today is a well-known mixed farm operation with dairy and beef cattle, broiler chickens, turkeys and free range egg production. The business has been active in the farming community for more than 30 years.
Colin manages the flock while Ross works on the cropping (mainly grass/hay). They’ve been Clearbrook Grain & Milling customers since 2013 and have come to rely on them for complete feed, farm commodities and supplies. The knowledge and experience of the Clearbrook Grain & Milling team has proven to be instrumental in ensuring flock health and production.
“We’re getting more eggs with better shells,” says Ross. “They make it easy to do business with them, too. I love the auto order option. I never have to worry about not having enough feed on hand.”
“Clearbrook Grain & Milling provides consistently top quality feed and products and their prices are always competitive.”
